New Motherboard!

I am planning on buying a new motherboard sometime this week.

Running a AMD Athlon 64 3400 CPU on it..

Anyone suggest a really nice motherboard that is made just for gaming. A fast motherboard that can be setup for gaming and duel channel and all that good stuff...

Any suggestions?

Yeah. Also you need to be much more specific. AGP/PCIe? Overclocking or not? What features do you need?

yeah, isn't there a 754 and 939 3400+?

Don't get an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum. I've had nothing but problems with them. Apparently there's a known bug with the sound, at least with Half-Life 2, and that has gone unfixed (though I suppose that could be Valve's fault from some optimizations or something). Actually my 5.1 surround sound never worked with it, but it could just be another symptom of my bad board. I recently RMAed mine to MSI which has an ultra slow RMA process. A friend got one, it went bad and he RMAed it to newegg, its replacement was bad, and he's now in the process of getting another replacement. I've heard many similar stories. This board got great reviews, but in the future I'm going to avoid MSI like the plague.

They don't make it anymore...I am pretty sure they did but the difference was it had a 800MHZ Hypertransport bus and the 3500 has 1000...pretty sure not 100%

They didn't make many though

There is a 939 3400+...I'm running it. It does come with a 800MHz bus enabled, but I'm running mine at 1000MHz, so it is possible, in effect, to turn the chip into a 3500+ VERY easily. BlindBart is right. The chips are exceedingly rare.
