New motherboard

Can somebody help me to select a new motherboard?
I want to have Canterwood MB that supports MT. Also I dont know if I can use 2.53 processor with it or I need to by new (800 MHZ) processor?
Please give me your advise money wise and performance wise.

Msi has a new 865p neo s in 3 versions, listed in pricewatch under motherboards- 865p. Both 865p and 875p will support 533 and 800 fsb cpus, not sure about 400 fsb. Newegg has one version for $125 with pictures, which the msi website hasn't posted yet. Albatron is also coming out with a budget 865p board sometime in May.

Do you need gigabit lan and are you okay with using a NIC? The Abit IC7 is less than the other boards and has a lot of features too. It's probably the best deal for a canterwood motherboard right now. You dont need a 800FSB CPU to use a Canterwood mobo, your 2.53 is fine.

$152 at Googlegear (good place to buy computer parts from) but its out of stock right now

 

Does it support HT? Or should I ask: Do all new MB support HT?

All of the Canterwoods support HT, not sure about the Springsdale, but probably.

 

How do I choose memory for these MB?
