new motherboard works great, but reporting that my CPU is around 50c at idle?

okay I got my motherboard its a MSI K8T Neo FSR, in BIOS it seems to be reporting my CPU at 50c, which is way too high for idle, and motherboard monitor 5 reports it was 120c!! why is this?

Oh, that's a fine temp, I have an AMD 2500+ and my proc is at 50C even with my Volcano 12+ at a little under half power. If the house is hotter, then the proc will be hotter, and the 3000+ will generate more heat. Don't worry about 50C, once it hits 60C or gets close to 60C that's when you should start getting worried.

well, when I had this CPU on the other motherboard with the HSF, and the thermal compound that came on it, it ran at about 36c when I boot up..could it be I put too much arctic silver 5?

okay, I reapplied the arctic silver 5, and it is still showing around 50c on bootup. Ill see what happens when I bootup the first time tommorow morning
