Put in a new motherboard last night since mine died. Tried running it, wouldnt go past the windows XP splash screen.. and actually it got as far as it dimming in.

Updated bios to newest version.

Tried again still same issue, tried some different settings in the Bios, still same issue.

When i boot to safe mode it seems to hang on the same line each time an iomega.sys driver.. never goes past it.

Not sure if that helps but i am wondering if anyone has ran into this same issue.

It wouldnt be the sata right, since i am not using them?

Was thinkin of reinstalling windows... but dont want to do that if i can get around it.

thanks for the help.

If you put in a new motherboard, without a fresh install of windows.....well......bad things tend to happen. Its a huge change to the system. I have seen it work, but man....that's asking a lot.

I just went from an MSI nForce2 w/ AthlonXP to an MSI nForce3 board with an A64 3200+ Winch w/out reinstalling windows and it works perfectly fine. Just make sure you uninstall ALL mobo drivers before hand (its easy with the nForce boards b/c nVidia only has one uninstaller for ALL drivers)
