ive just replaced my mbd, the new one has onboard lan

i can connect to my router& net using the network card i was using before, but not using my onboard LAN

ipconfig with the onboard comes up as 255.255.0.0 (class b network?) - dont know if this matters (the network card comes up as 255.255.255.0)

what settings do i need to change to allow my onboard lan to see the router??

cheers

1. make sure that its enabled in the BIOS.
2. You need to see if its getting an IP from the router which should be 192.168.X.XXX, subnet 255.255.255.0 (typical), a setting of 255.255.0.0 would seem to indicate a manual setting. Normal settings are Local Area Connection - Properties - TCP/IP - get IP auto DNS servers auto
3. Sometimes you may need to un-intsall/disable the pci NIC, as seems to be your setup
4. Check the connection speed/connectivity LEDs on the onboard NIC - no lights indicates a problem
