New motherboard choice - sit and wait a bit longer?

Seems after reading all the posts in here that there are several nightmares going around with the new crop of 133a boards.

I'm looking to dump my Intel and go AMD. I have CAS2 PC133 from Infineon and Mosel, so I'm ready for a bit of FSB overclocking, but from what I can tell, it seems that every damn board has serious issues.

Has anyone had good luck with overclocking, say, a 900-1Ghz T-Bird with good stability? I'm looking to hit 1.2GHz at least, but I want a stable system. RAID means nothing to me, and price is important (which is why I'm avoiding the Asus A7v133, which seems like the best choice available, aside from that stupid reset CMOS jumper)

Help me out here guys!

why exactly are you avoiding the AV7133, which appears to be one of the top KT133A mobos?

I'm waiting. Asus is suppose to come out with a mobo later this month (a7v266) that will be support both sdram and ddr. I know your trying to avoid the asus, but it will only be a matter of time before others copy the design(hopefully Epox:)) Also, I've heard on the wind ddr2! If ddr is not a major thing for you, as these boards roll out, I'd figure prices will drop on the current stuff.

When you look at how cheap even PC2100 DDR ram has gotten, I'd say wait a bit longer for a good DDR board. I would have, but I got a decent price for my old BX set-up, that I really could'nt wait and bought what I felt was the next best thing. This Epox is a great board, and I'm having fun experimenting with it. Today I've got it going at 6x155MHz no probs yet, and I just got done with an hour of CS.

As you can see, I read more than post, but my Abit KT7 is running a Duron 600 at 1Ghz rock solid w/ PC100 memory. Seemed pretty cost effective when I built it, still does.

My $.02

The ASUS A7V133 is having the trouble with the Mosel RAM, aren't they?

This is the reason for me to get a ABIT and through there isn't a fifes PCI slot which sux too...

Why are they doing stuff like that and cannot produce a OEM version with 6 PCI slots...???
