new motherboard came w/ pin/spring missing off south bridge...

Hi,

My dads old motherboard went south so I had ordered him a new one... It came yesturday and the first thing I noticed was that one of the pins/spings was missing off the south bridge and was just flopping around. I have a spring/pin from his old motherboard i can replace.. but i'm wondering the opinion on if this is a new board or maybe newegg tried to ship me a bum board.... does it sound like this type of thing could hapen to a retail board never used????

Thanks....

I've had those come off on new boards as well, I usually found all the parts in the motherboard box and just re-installed it.

If i were to replace one, I would replace both from the old motherboards.

Sounds like it came off during shipment. Otherwise, I doubt the parts flopping around were of the size that could be lost and found, then put back in the box the fool the next customer. Probably would have been a better idea to leave those things out if they knew they were screwing you over.
