New motherboard and memory or a new processor?

Here are my current system specs...

Via KT-133 chipset
Duron 1.3ghz
256mb PC133
Geforce 4-4200 128mb

So here's my situation. I'm pretty much set on buying a NForce 2 based Shuttle XPC. Would I notice a big performance gain if I were to buy the XPC and go with 512 mb of DDR memory, while using the Duron? I plan on eventually getting a 33mhz fsb Athlon XP eventually, but it's a little too costly to do both at the moment.

Basically, I already feel that this will be a worthwhile upgrade, I just want to know if I will notice a huge increase in gaming performance from it.

Thanks in advanced

well, the ddr and the new mainboard will give you some performance gain, so i would do that and get an athlon xp later because the pc133 sdram would slow the processor down quite a bit, that mainboard is quite fast and, with an athlon xp, it would be screamin fast.

A decent Athlon XP CPU is only $50-60 now... check out newegg... I think the Revison B Athlon XP's are goin for $100 or so... but even a Thoroughbred A is good. XP1700's will run at 1.8 Ghz with PC2700 DDR, and they're less than $60... just make sure you use a copper heatsink... aluminum won't usually cut it for Thoroughbred CPU's.
