New Motherboard and CPU

Ok, I searched and I could find a streight answer.

Ok, if I put in a new motherboard and CPU can I just run a XP repair and everything should be fine? Is that true?

With a mobo *and* CPU upgrade, you're probably gonna have to call up MS and get them to turn your OS back on because of their anti-piracy "feature". But to answer the question you were asking, it will probably work fine but you'd be better off re-installing if the motherboard has a different chipset.

Crazy is correct!

I just had to do that today on my secondary system with XP home, after a mobo and CPU swapout. After the telephone call and renewing the numbers, the system is working great.

Good luck!
