I am going to order this board buy the end of weekend unless i find a better deal or board DS4 It has good reviews and has everything i need i will be overclocking and running CF, I am running a Asus P5B Deluxe now does anyone think of a board that would be better than this? please let me know thanks.

Hi Mustanggt,

For the price, I think it would be very difficult to find a better X48 board. The DS4 gets great reviews and seems to be quite feature packed. The more expensive DQ6 has a few extra features, but are they really worth $55 more? I'm also planning to get a DS4 in the near future. Looks like a great choice.

Yea I think it looks good I have never had Gigabyte before but reviews show no trouble, I was going to wait for the new X58 chipset but by the time it in stores and affordable it will be late 2009 i think,

VirtualLarry means the number of SATA ports. According to his post in this thread click here, there is room on the board for the other 2 SATA ports that the Jmicron chip supports, but obviously they aren't on the board. They are on the DQ6, but you pay $55 more for it.

At the same time, most of the X48 boards have 6 SATA ports. The only ones with 8 that I see are the Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6, GA-X48T-DQ6 (DDR3), and the DFI LP LT X47-TR2. The Asus Rampage Formula, which is considered by many to be the cream of the crop (so to speak), also only has 6 and it costs just as much as the GA-X48-DQ6.

I think it all depends on how many hard drives and SATA devices you plan to use. To me, having 6 SATA ports is plenty. Is that enough for you, Mustanggt?

Thanks, 6 sata ports is crippled lol my P5B Deluxe that i am running now only has 7 i think so 6 would be good for me. one thing i cant figure out is why my board Asus P965 cost more than the new P45 boardsP5B They have a open box one for $150 ?? makes me wonder if i want to change this board out.
