Which monitor are you getting tomorrow? Link?
Also what brands so I focus on ?
I ordered this one while it was $30 off:
https://www.costco.com/LG-32UD59-B-...IrBeqQMkbs1Eole0mQDlSvqOhBwRWNhKkXfQ45g01/sg=
It's been cheaper after rebate at Newegg, but I know if I don't like it, it's very easy to take back at Costco.
So, this one is an LG which I wouldn't necessarily say you need to get an LG, what I typically care more about is the panel type. The LG I would have "invested" in was the 32UD99 which is IPS & HDR, but the reviews on the HDR have been hit or miss, so I bought this VA panel to hold me over.
I currently have a 40" 4K VA panel... VA is at least better than TN in my opinion although I've seen some very good TN panels. The 40" is just too big for me, so after 2 years I've finally decided to go smaller. Here is what I typically look for in a monitor:
Must haves (if I want to keep the monitor very long term):
~4k resolution
IPS
300+ nits brightness... ideally 350 and if HDR, peak should be 800-1000 or higher (this doesn't exist in monitor form AFIK)
At least 100 DPI, ideally 110 or more probably (this will be determined by monitor size & resolution)
Adaptive Sync
Reasonably good color reproduction, but does not need to be photo accurate
Nice to haves:
Over 60hz refresh
VESA mounting
HDR
So yeah typically I don't focus on the brand so much as the specs... the specs will typically drive your price tag up regardless of brand, although if you can find 2 companies with the same specs, likely they have the same panel... so you can google a little to confirm and then decide which you like for aesthetics, warranty or etc.
