Probrably a personal preference thing, but I find seem to get more eye strain in gaming at a lower referesh like 75mhz. 85mhz is my minimun, and I prefer 100.

I concur I could not stand anything less than 85 Hz on my old Crt. And that was at a lower resolution 1152x864 (or whatever resolution around there). I usually set it at 100 Hz. I wonder if that contributed to it's downfall... 🙁
Can't say for sure, however I have two coming today!!! I will post if 1600x1200 @75 is an eye strain or not.
Personally I am going to run mine at 1024x1280 @ 85. My friend runs his Sony at 1600x1200 @ 60 and it gives me a headache just being in the room with it, but it doesn't bother him at all, I don't understand.
I've got the same monitor a couple months ago to replace an old Sony Trinitron (Dell) 19" monitor. Running at 1024x1280@85. Great monitor and the software that you can download for it is great for adjusting it.
You need an a blazingly fast GPU if you are going to play games like doom-3 at such high resolutions. Even the X800/6800ultra cannot churn out decent frame rates at high resolutions when playing d-3.
