New Monitor, Having an issue.

Here is the deal, so I had 2 basic 17 inch monitors hooked up to my work comp. It has a R9 270. Well today I picked up a new Hp LA2405wg. It runs at 1920x1200. So now I have a vertical 1024x1280 and this 1920x1200. Well after playing a some games for a few hours the comp was idle and all of a sudden the HP started giving horizontal scrambled lines. Aside the lines the screen was black in the background. After a few moments the screen went back to norm. Then later it did it again. The only thing that fixed it this time was rebooting the comp. Both times it has done this the vertical monitor was just fine. So my question is, could this be the GPU or the new monitor>?

TLDR: lines on 1 screen but not the other, rebooting helped. GPU or SCreen?

Did your PC discover the new monitor? Are you using the Catalyst driver suite? Check resolutions and Monitor type.. In Catalyst Control Center there should be an option under "My First Digital Display", choose "Display Color" and click "Use Extended Display" then hit "Apply" & see if it still does it.

If so, in Catalyst Control Center there's an option under "My First Digital Display" choose "Display Color" and click "Use Extended Display" then hit "Apply" & see if it still does it.

Thanks for the advice, I did that we will see what happens.

are you using this 2 displays on your new laptop? sorry i wasnt sure. but if you were using 2 display on the laptop. maybe the gpu on the laptop isnt strong enough to power 2 at the same time. but my likely guess is the monitor itself. try plugging the messed up one by itself and see if you still get the problem
