I'm in the market for a new 24'' Monitor to use as a secondary monitor and primary gaming display for 360.

I've come to three choices but can't decide which to get, my choices are:
Samsung 24'' 2493HM
HP 24'' w2408h
Gateway 24'' FHD2400

As I said in my topic title, it has to be a best buy available product. Can anyone tell me which of the three would be the best? All of them have HDMI which I'll be using for my 360 in 1080p.

Thanks!

The LG 24 is also available at BB but its now a TN panel so your stuck with TN only at BB these days which sucks.....

The Dell 24 is for sale at dell.com for 399 so you could PM it to BB and get that for cheap.

I think they are all TN panels unfortunately, and the Gateway is only 72% color gamut, not sure about the others..

The 24? market is not an easy one for sure and if you don't want to spend much you must be ready to compromise on some of the features.

I currently own an LG 1980Q 19? and I'm very pleased with it but I'm thinking of replacing it with a 22? or 24? in the coming months. Since I have very good experience with my current LG I started looking at the LG L246WH. The L246WH is a good monitor also but I'm not really impressed with it. The luck of a DVI port along with the fact that the panel LG uses is manufactured by AUO have me thinking.

I was also looking at the Samsung 24'' 2493HM too. This monitor has some nice features like D-Sub+DVI+HDMI but as everything else it's not perfect. Take for instance that ridiculous stand stopper pin. I wonder what they were thinking when they decided to go with this. If you have the monitor against a wall or a furniture and want to adjust its height there's no way of accessing that pin, and even if you do manage to get to it you won't be able to take it off adjust the height of the monitor and put the pin back in place unless of course your last name is Houdini. Talking about some poor design here.

Making the right choice when it comes to 24? monitors is really tough.

If they still have them, BB is clearing out the Westinghouse monitors. Last I checked they were $329. My local Store had 6 left as of last weekend. It's the only non-TN panel they had. http://forums.anandtech.com/me...=2144597&enterthread=y I've done a little bit of gaming with it and was ok with it's performance there, you have to set the aspect ratio to "normal" in the menu.

As far as the samsung pin issue, my wife has a 225bw and it doesn't require you have the pin in it. All it does is lock the stand into all the way up or down, I believe. The monitor will stay at whatever height without the pin.

My other input, if you're looking for a monitor with a good stand, I ended up putting a Neo-Flex stand on mine for $35. Take a look at the thread I linked above.
