New monitor(950p) flickers off constantly. What is wrong?

I know I can send it to be repaired for free, I can even drive it there, but I would like to know what the problem is before I do that.

The screen acts like it is going to shut down, but in a fraction of a second it comes back to normal. The whole thing happens so fast that if I blink too long I won't see it, just hear the flick.

Any opinions on what could be causing that?

Thanks,

Any magnetic devices around your monitor..non-computer speakers, another monitor, etc? That may cause interference with the monitor and will cause it to flicker and then eventually die.
I've also heard of monitors not getting a constant power supply so they tend to flicker like they're going on and off. Plugging it into a decent surge protector should fix the problem.

<< another monitor >>

yes I have another monitor next to it, but I've two monitors next to each other for a couple years now. The only difference is that this is a new monitor.

the other areas are not a factor as I have a 650VA ups with only three devices pluged in and my speakers are not in my desk.

Maybe I'll give samsung a call today, I have some free time to waste on hold. Thanks.
