New Monitor (192n) and ghosing...

My dad just got me a new Samsung 192n (early Christmas). I set it up right away and everything was good. Then I started to play some counter-strike and I noticed some pretty major ghosting. It has a 25ms response time which I thought would be enough, but apprently it is not. And they guy at best buy told my dad it will be great for gaming (my dad didn't consult me at all).

Is there anything I can do to get rid of the ghosting, or am I going to have to get a new monitor?

The Flat panels are notoriosly bad at first person shooters...not much you can do really..you might try the analog vs digital interface, but without looking, i imagine that samsung is all DVI

I know they are bad for ghosting, but I heard they got alot better, and the newer ones were good for gaming. This one doesn't have a digital input.

Same here, VP171b owns all LCDs and CRTs!

But in response to the original thread. You should do research before buyingsince not all LCDs have improved for gaming, especially with large ones like yours.

its odd its only analog, that could be half the problem right there..if the connection technology is that far behind, you can bet the insides are too.....as for the response rate, you cant make a 25 respond any faster, the new 16's are good from what i hear. Seems like your best option is to put it in the box and take it back
