New moniter choice.

I'm currently in the market for a new moniter to sit along side my old CRT (19" Iiyama VP Pro 451) as my new primary moniter. I've decided to go for a LCD panel but can't decide what one to go for. My budget is around £450 (bout $800 at todays exchange rate). Things I want:

Natively supports 1600 x 1200
Plays games without ghosting

Thats really it. I'd like it to be able to play DVDs and avis/mpgs well too but as i'll have my CRT hooked up too it's not a major thing. My important system specs are:

Athlon 64 3500+ (winnie)
2gb RAM
Sapphire x850 XT PE

So guys what do you suggest?

If you don't mind "widescreen" most reviews (including here) have said the Dell 2005fpw is a faster (less ghosting) and overall better monitor. It is however 1680x1050 instead of 1600x1200 due to being a widescreen.

I have the Planar PL2010M 21" LCD here at work and I LOVE this thing. I watch movies on it and it has no ghosting in action sequences. Although if the dell is cheaper I'd go with it

I would say that i want to keep a 4:3 aspect ratio so wide screen is a no no. I also cant seem to find the Planar anywhere. Bear in mind im shopping in the UK so it might be sold under a different name. I realise that LCD panels have a native resolution for a reason but how well do they scale down when using lower res' in games for example?

Also my Iiyama has started to make a strange noise. It sounds like a really dull hissing, like air escaping from a balloon. Anyone know why it would be making this noise. The monitor is about 4 years old now.
