This is the official moderator nomination thread for Video Cards and Graphics.

We will compile a list of nominees through Monday night. Voting on nominees will take place in this thread Tuesday through Thursday. The candidate with the most votes will have the opportunity to become a moderator for this and one other secondary non-social forum of their choosing.

Either before or after the vote, a candidate can withdraw his or her name from consideration. In the event that the candidate with the most votes withdraws his or her name, the candidate with the next most votes will be extended the opportunity, and so on.

AnandTech resevers the right to veto nominations at our discretion. We will do our best to allow you to pick the candidates you feel best suit the needs of your forum, but we won't allow members who can't follow guidelines to be put in a position to enforce them on others.

We will keep a list of nominees in this thread. If a nominee has been vetoed or has withdrawn their name from consideration, a note will be made next to their name. This will be done to prevent multiple posts nominating the same member. If the member you want to moderate this forum is already on the list, please don't post.

Please only post the name of the nominee in your replies. Please make sure it is spelled correctly before posting.

I vote for xtknight, who I actually assumed was already a mod. Go figure.

Not that I am expecting a huge amount of votes or anything, but I've requested to be withdrawn. You can only vote once, so don't waste it on me :)

I appreciated and was flattered by the nomination, but I want to keep posting on AT forums purely a leisure activity.

I haven't seen a good explanation for choosing the new moderators. I'm all for proper moderation, but what are we doing with all of the current mods? Are we bumping everyone up a notch? For example, is gillbot going to be an elite mod, keys a sr mod, and bfg/xt/whomever a deputy undersecretary assistant mod? Are all of the old mods getting the boot? Most importantly, how can we blame this on rollo? ;)

Mostly just additional help to clean bathrooms and etc.

I agree that the system here is very poorly explained and implemented. While I'm sure whoever wins will work out fine, a lot more info about what's happening to the current mods would be nice. Even nicer would be an improvement over this terrible voting system. Any time there's so many nominees, it's possible a small plurality of people can pick someone that a large majority of people hated. Imagine if Rollo were allowed in - 10 super fanboys could vote him in simply because the larger community wouldn't equally coalesce around another nominee. Barring a system that allows everyone to rank their preferences, the powers that be should at least slowly eliminate the lowest vote getters to end up with someone with a real majority.

yes, except that somebody DID nominate rollo and he was taken out by the mods. also, as previously mentioned, these mods are additions to help with general maintenance.

I withdrew my name last night, as my nomination was a well enjoyed (by myself) joke. :D Anyways I am very happy with this way of choosing, but now the choice is very hard as I can't vote twice. :beer:
