Parts I have so far:

BFG GTX 260 OC
Crossair 650 Watt PS
Full Tower case

So I'm looking to play far cry 2 --

Looking for a cheap / low end MotherBoard.

Processor Choice would be:

E7300 or a E8200

Would also like a recommendation for ram that would pair up well with the MotherBoard.

I'm trying to stay with in 300 bucks for MotherBoard, RAM and CPU.

I probably will not be buying another video card so SLI is not an issue for me.

Thanks.

Currently, the highest end chipsets out are from the 700 series(nForce) and the Intel x4* stuff. You should try and find a board that has one of these, but its on the cheap for the best performance. Dunno what brands I'd recommend, but a good place to start would be a filtered Newegg search - let me know if this is still out of your price range.

Good places to start:
x* chipsets
700 chipsets

He wants a cheap motherboard...

Get some G.Skill/Corsair/Mushkin/etc. 4GB of DDR2 800 RAM for $50 or less, maybe a Gigabyte EP45-DS3L for <$100, and an e8400 which you may or may not overclock.

Not trying to hijack this thread but I have a pertinent question. would the Asus p5kpl work with a q6600 if I wanted to overclock it to 3.0 gig? I am a newbie to intels and still learning how they work compared to amd. I'm guessing that setting the bus to 333 mhz would accomplish this? I bought this ram here http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820148212 and it is compatible with this motherboard. If the chip supports it safely would there also be a chance of getting 3.6 gig by running the fsb at 1600 and still keeping the ram in spec?

Any help appreciated

The p5kpl isn't a true overclocker's board. The first poster asked for a good budget board. Most with onboard video won't overclock very well. Read some customer evaluations at newegg and decide for yourself.
