AMD XP 2200+
Volcano 7
MSI KT333 Ultra2
Aopen geforce 4 ti4200
512 pc 2700 drr (1 crucial, 1 samsung)
lite on dvd/cdrom
7200rpm hdd
430 works PSU

Ok, I had some problems with my last mobo, so I decided to get a new one. Booting up into windows I have no problem, but when I try to boot from CD ROM to reformat and install XP, it will load all the hardware, but once it gets to the first menu, the system shuts down. Now I swapped out the CD ROM, not that. the XP cd looks pretty clean, dont think it is that.

Also, when I set the FSB to 133, I reboot and then my mobo wont even boot. So, I clear the cmos and start over. One thing I noticed is that my CPU may be a little hot, its only running at 1350ish Mhz, and shows in bios its at 42C/105F, is that too hot?

Thanks for any input.

1. Try taking one of the RAM sticks out and try one brand by itself.
2. Try another video card.
3. It could be the powersupply.
4.
1350ish Mhz
I thought xp2200 runs higher than that. It could be bad motherboard, if this current setup was working with your old system. Your temperatures are okay.

What kind of hsf do you have on the cpu? Are you using thermal paste or arctic silver compound? Its possible that your heatsink is not getting good contact with your cpu. Try cleaning it off and reapplying arctic silver (just a little bit) and see if that will stabilize your system.
