got a dfi infinity nf4 sli board today allong w/ a 7800gt. put the mobo in and connected all the power things to it and it tried to turn on but like stopped. then the standby power led came on and stays on. i hooked up the switch and it doesnt do anything. any ideas?

no other cards are in the comp except the vid.

When you say "no other cards" you mean that there are no other parts in the computer whatsoever? Also, what do you mean by "and it tried to turn on but like stopped"? Please be more specific.

sorry. ya know how as soon as you flip the switch on the PSU and it is connected to the mobo it turns on. well mine started to turn on but stopped.

when i said no other cards i meant no other pci cards. i do not have a hdd or any ide devices attatched at this moment either.

I have the same prob i think.
Remove the CPU and hit the pwer switch does it kick on a bit? Diag LED's and ram leds and fans spin up?

thats what is happening to mine.

I plug the pwer cord in and the standby comes on thats it. unless i remove the cpu it turns on

So you have the Monitor connected? If not make sure it is and turn on. How about the HSF, is it connected on the right header? If the problem persists, dismount the mobo and place it on top of a box and then turn it on. If it stays on, it could be the mobo was grounding to the case which causes a short circuit to the PSU.
