New Mobo or Old Mobo?

I just indirectly got in on the TCWO Raid XP1700 AMD Combo deal.

My current rig is Duron @954 on an Asus A7V with 512MB PC143 Mosel Vitelic RAM

I think I can just plug the XP1700 into this board. Is this true? Either way, do I want to do that?

My other choice is to basically build a new PC and buy DDR RAM.

Any recommendations, comments, jibes?

the ASUS A7V does not support processors with 133MHz FSB, therefore you wouldn't want to use your Athlon XP with it (as the XP is a 133MHz FSB chip).

also, i don't even think the A7V is capable of running an XP regardless of the FSB limitation.
