Do I have to reformat my windows drive when I install a new motherboard? I will be going from my iwill to an Asus Av7133. Everything else including RAM and CPU will stay the same.
Even with the same chipset I would highly recommend a format/reinstall. System instability can result because different manufacturers engineer their motherboards to different specs even if they use the exact same chipset, which is doubtful in this case. Save yourself some headaches and reformat the HDD after backing up your data.
