ok so I busted my motherboard, an Epox 8DRA+ and I need a new one. I'm debating whether to just get another nForce2 based mobo or something newer that offers more upgrade options for the future. I'm leaning towards another nForce2 since I'm pretty short on cash. The RAM I have to use is PC2700. Can a newer mobo be had for a similiar price or should I just go with an nForce2? If I go with the latter should I just get another 8RDA+ or would I be better off Abit or ASUS's nForce2 offerings this time? Any suggestions are appreciated.

For the XP2000 I would recommend the Shuttle AN35N or Biostar M7NCDP.

Yes, Shuttle AN35_N has an extra 12v for stability, and comes with SPDIF bracket now. Best budget board there is IMO, as the quality is top notch.

This is a 400 board, isn't it? The XP 2000+ is a 266 processor, correct? Is there a big disadvantage not running a faster chip like a 333 Barton at least?
