Hey all, you probably don't remember me, but I used to post here constantly lol. Anyway... It's been a while and I haven't been keeping up with the hardware scene and I'm too lazy to read up on every piece of hardware available. What are the best AMD based mobo's available at the moment? Best bang for buck?

I think the best bang-for-buck is "still" the ECS K7S5A, although its been around a while. A more mainstream board at a good proce is the Shuttle AK35GT2 - ~$74 at NewEgg. The Shuttle board has received many good reviews.

That's too subjective. We need more personal use info. to go on.

* Do you want to OC?
* Do you need a DDR MB?
* Do you need onboard sound, video, LAN, RAID?

I like the Epox 8K5A2+. For under $100, you get a fast, stable motherboard that also includes 6 USB 2.0 ports, LAN, 5.1 sound, and an ATA133 ATA/RAID controller. Hell of a "bang for the buck" in my opinion. Check here for more info. :)

I'm looking for a reliable motherboard. Under $100. Pretty good feature set. OC is not a big thing to me, but the option would be nice. Raid is not necessary.

I was thinking maybe an nForce 415 based board on account of my not having a good sound board... What do you guys think?

I just suggested one. If you don't need RAID and LAN, you can try the 8K5A2 non + for around $80.

For under $100 the Epox has 5.1 sound, USB 2.0, RAID, and excellent o/c support...

The Nforce 415 is slower, has less options, and doesn't o/c very good at all. Also, there have been several people having issues with the Nforce sound. If you are planningon going Nforce at all costs, you might want to wait for the Nforce 2.
