My new case, mobo, and cpu should be coming tomorrow and I need to know something before they get here. I know that I need to reformat my hard drive but will I still have to reinstall windows when everything is put together? I want to know so I can reformat now and not have to do it tomorrow

if you are using win xp, you should be able to boot to the cd drive with the xp cd in it and do a repair install.

but a clean format would be best. yes format it today and windows wll just ask you what partition to install it on. no need to reformat at that time if you do it ahead of time.

well, if the chipset on your old computer is the same, or almost exactly the same, then no. otherwise, you have to install windows on the comp you want to run the HD on. just formatt it now, then, stick it into your new build, install windows. once in windows, copy in all your data.
