Hello All.
The setup:
As a few of you know, I started building my first system back in JUNE, yes JUNE. It has been utter he#$ for me.
Put everything together fine, I thought, but it turns out I had a bad mobo, video card. And I flat out installed the cpu wrong, breaking a pin. So after a week of trying to figure out what was wrong, I sent the 3 peices back. UPS took nearly 2 weeks to get it out there, it arrived 8/11/04. Another 2 weeks go by, and newegg hasnt touched anything, so I give them a call, the guy tells me the mobo/vc are fine....and they havent gotten to the processer. Yet another week goes by, and they finally start on the processor and send it back, thats all they send back [BTW, it was my fault it was broken, so no luck getting it fixed..]
Its now 9/16 and Ive been on the phone with newegg 10+ times THIS WEEK trying to figure out where my close to $700 worth of hardware wondered off to. They couldnt seem to tell me, so they tell me I never sent it in. Had to fax them the packing slip showing the weight and such of the package, and magically they find it. [Or do they?]
As of last night it said it was being processed, now this morning my account is credited with $565, and I was charged for restocking fees. Right now Im just glad to have the money, but this is ridiculous if you ask me, and I sent the 2 peices in for defective/replacement.... they restocking defective peices? :-
The Question:
I had originally bought the x800, not by ati though, simply because it wasnt instock, and I wanted one
I had also purchased the msi k8n neo.
Now im just looking for a fast VC that has proven to cause little trouble.. I just want a working computer.
Nvidia? ATI? Stay with the k8n?
