I dont see them either.

But even if we could get them, would they work on our standard cdr/w drives?

These discs are nothing new - they are just standard blanks pre-recorded with backup software.

This backup software supports compression, which means that, with a little optimism, you can achieve a 2:1 compression ratio giving about 1 GB of usable space.

Hmm, my fault. My 12/4/32S Plextor isn't supported either. Besides I think that CDRWs makes the best backup disks. I have no intention of burning new disks for each weeks new back up.

The 1GB CDRs just seems like nothing more than hype. Mitsu's site claims 1.6 compression ratio (that figures about 650megs of compressed data).

So its just another CDR media with the same pit density as regular CDRs but with backup software built-in the media.

Kinda expensive backup option, when you can use 3rd party backup software and cheap regular CDRs.

Last time I checked, these folks would send you one free as a sample. I have one in a drawer or closet somewhere around here now. The idea is not bad, but if you're going to do more than a few backups Ghost is more cost effective, and much more versatile.

Just my $0.02 ;)

LOL if i need 1 gb of storage (which I dont), its a good thing my Mitsumi is supported. I swear my mitsumi is supported by everything I have ever found, if only they made a 12x burner.
