New Missions for L4D?

Are they planning on coming out with new missions for this? Or are we going to have to buy L4D2 to get new missions? I never really get tired of playing it, but it would be nice to add a few more. Especially since most people have figured out the cheats.
 
There's supposed to be a new update with "survival mode" coming out in April. One of the survival mode levels is a new level called "Lighthouse". That's about all I know about it.

No. I am too busy playing games and checking Anandtech forums. I am a very simple person, I only go on about 6 websites total. My time is spent playing video games and sometimes working out so that I don't become overweight and die from playing video games. No. I am too busy playing games and checking Anandtech forums. I am a very simple person, I only go on about 6 websites total. Not sure how that is conceded. I was not being at all sarcastic. I actually come home from work and play L4D, CS:Source, and TF2 till 11 at night before I go to bed. I don't have a problem admitting that, cause I don't think there is anything wrong with it. And, yes, I only go on six sites. 1 porn, 1 sports, 2 email, anandtech, and hf. So excuse me for trying to get my information from a site that is here to provide information.

And no it is not overreacting. Every effen thread has someone like you who finds it necessary to educate people to search engines. If everyone just googled everything, what would be the point of coming here? I asked to the question not only to get the answer, but to spark thoughts on the subject. Maybe, just maybe, people might have cool ideas or such. If you don't want to answer my question, then don't answer it, don't tell me to google it.
 
The update doesn't have any new missions really. It turns on the two missing campaigns for versus and remixes some maps for survival mode. All I read was that there were like 2 tiny survival maps that were the only truely new levels. No new campaigns for what I've heard though.

We're suppose to get the SDK with this release, and some teams already have campaigns "in the pipe" and ready to convert though.
 
Yeah, Valve doesn't appear to be releasing any new campaigns any time soon, however the SDK they will be releasing should mean we'll see a huge inundation of user created content, many of which look extremely promising.
 
If you can stop playing games for a few:
For the latest maps checkout FPSBanana and l4dmaps.
There are new user created maps and campaigns for VS and lots for Co-op.

P.S. if you haven't been playing airport or death toll on vs for the last few months you have yourself to blame as there has been an existing workaround for some time...

With the SDK we should see more in the pipe. Let's hope crossroads is released soon!

That is going to be very sweet when the SDK is released. Hopefully someone creates a cruise ship scene. Would be cool to carry a machete or something also.

But, yes seriously Valve will release new content, let's give them time, because if there's a prerequisite for something from Valve to come out it's a whoop-ass load of time, there's even a humorist'esque attempt at inventing a Valve's own time scale, which either ironically or not (on purpose or not) ends up being about 90% correct from my own observations. With Valve, time isn't money, no, time is content (and arguably quality as well, arguably since that's obviously the most subjective part).
 
Game is such a rip-off for the 34.99. AND DID THEY JUST ERASE ALL MY "HARD" earned achievements. Noo. not my DEAD STOP, oh jesus, my "what are you trying to prove' NOOOoooo

I'm going to alert the authorities right now to be on the lookout for a man trying to smuggle a machete on to a cruise ship...I don't want to read about it in the papers about how "he warned us in internet postings"... 😀

Google isn't hard to use and usually on takes a couple minutes.

i would like to see a random vs mode, where you could either pick stages from any campaign and make a 'playlist' to through, or just have the game toss a random level each time
 
L4D is lame. I haven't played it for a month. I've probably played that game maybe 10 hours total since that 25 dollar sale.

Main thing for new maps is that the SDK gets released!
We should see a bunch of custom maps then 🙂

You can play custom maps now too, it's just a PITA to do it.

There are some good ones though...played a few of the customs ones & really cannot wait for the SDK, since that will be what should really open the game up.
