Hey guys, I have an Asus p4p800 se mobo :http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=12&l3=31&model=179&modelmenu=1

I recently added this memory....http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227210

Im running 3.4 p4 prescott but after I installed the memory, my clock speed reads at only 2.4. Can you please tell me what is going on? Did I buy the wrong memory? I know I installed it right because I even took it out and reinstalled the memory. Please help. Thanks

Asus p4p800se
3.4 Ghz Pentium 4
BFG 6800 Ultra
1 Gb Kingston PC3200 value ram
100 Gb Western Digital
160 Gb Maxtor
Creative xfi
480 Watts PSU
Windows Xp Professional sp2

Do you have one 1 Gb stick or two 512 Kb sticks of memory? I believe if you want dual channel capability you have to use memory sticks in pairs.

If you are using only 1 stick of memory it's performance may be down grading because of that.
