I was a long time user of Seti@Home way back when they first started up even before the BOINC client. But that was years back. I just decided to join again and signed up under team Anandtech.😀

Good to see you, LocutOs! 🙂 Welcome!
What are you using - and which projects do you run?

CPU - Intel Q6600 Quad Core
GPU - NVIDIA Gefore 8800 GTS
RAM - 3Gigs

Currently I'm just running Seti and LHC@home (Particle physics is a pet hobby of mine). Why is Folding@Home not part of the standard list of projects that comes installed with BOINC? There are one or two others that interest me too.

I've got BOINC set to only run when I'm not using the computer however as I like my computer to be nice and responsive. But then my PC is usually on 24/7.

Welcome from OT, Locut0s! 🙂

Folding@Home isn't a BOINC project for some reason. Maybe because BOINC is done by Berkeley, but F@H is done by Stanford. :hmm:

P.S. Singing is fine - just make sure Ray and Rudy don't join in! :whiste:

Welcome to TA & welcome back to The Search 🙂.

If you're into particle physics you should check out DPAD (aka muon1), see here http://stephenbrooks.org/muon1/, it can be run via BOINC but I don't know how myself. I just use the standard client.
We have a small but powerful DPAD team here.
