New member of the Team

I've been a long time fan of this website, but i've never registered. Now that I decided to start running SETI@home, I decided that this is the perfect time to join AnandTech and its SETI@home team.

I am a beginner when it comes to BOINC. I just installed it and let it run. Are there any additional changes that I need to make to improve the SETI@home number crunching performance?

Are you thinking along the lines of system tweaks, program tweaks, or what? Just wondering. For all of my BOINC projects, I just set them up and let them run... Welcome to the TeAm!

I remember recalling that there are "tweaked" (I can't remember the correct word, sorry) versions of BOINC for certain things, but I don't know much about them, and I've never messed with them...

Yeah, I just wanted to see if I need to tweak the program to make it run faster, but if it's not necessary, i'll just let it run.

Arcadio, welcome to the TeAm and the forum 🙂

Not really a tweak but:

Check the benchmark results once in a while to make sure the number is what it should be. If something else is running when the benchmark runs the result could be lower than it should be and I think this will affect points.
