We have a new member of the family. Her name is Daisy. She is an 18 month old Black Lab. She is full of energy, and is calm at the same time. She loves my son and he loves her.

Daisy belonged to a coworker here at my office, and he has a new baby who appears to be allergic to dogs. Daisy was destined for the pound, until I heard him talking about her. I spoke to the wife about it, and she agreed we would take daisy in on a trial basis. She seems to have adjusted well. She went and slept in Sean's room last night, and every time she walks past him, she licks his face, and he laughs about it then gives her a big hug.

Tonight he kept trying to "tell her something" by holding her face in his hands and turning her head to look at him, and every time he did this, she nailed him with that big pink tongue. he would then say "No Daisy, Now Listen, I need to tell you something." turn her head and get slurped again. This went on for about 5 minutes until he turned and said MOMMIE!!!! She just won't listen!!!.. We laughed.

Daisy also seems to be watching out for Sean, this past weekend he started walking down the driveway heading for the road and she cut him off, and would not let him get past her. Now I don't know if she was doing this knowinly, or if she was playing, but either way, he did not get near that road.

She is already fixed, and has been through some obiedience training, she is house broken, and is very good. Still chews a bit, but hey, she is a black lab.

Well, I have a HUGE softspot for Black Labs, as I just had to have Chance, my best bud of 12 years put down back in the spring. He was suffering from an enlarged esophagaus, and could not get any food into his stomach.

Daisy Is very easy going, nothing bothers her, Sean has pulled her tail, yanked her ears, stepped on her, fallen on her, basically I think they are bonding, and this is good. Sean has even taken to feeding the dogs. Oh yeah, we already have 1 other dog, Missy, she is a lab/spitz mix and she is about 11 years old, but acts like Daisy, all puppy.
