Thats an 8gig module. The OPs linked article is referring to a 16gb module.

No, the OP's link refers to 2 x 8GB modules for a TOTAL of 16GB. Before recently, the only option was 2 x 4GB modules for a total of 8GB max.

I just built a desktop with 24 gigs of RAM - $149 on Newegg. 24 gigs, $149. That boggles my mind :biggrin:

24gb of non-ecc ram is crazy. now 144gb of ECC ram - that is something. screw SSD just load everything into RAM.

That is how much I spent on 512MB RAM 7 years ago. I thought I had a good deal when I got 4GB for $60 a few years ago.
