My current motherboard (Gigabyte 8IHXP) died today and I will need a new one as soon as possible.
The specs are:
Motherboard: Gigabyte 8IHXP (Intel i850E chipset)
CPU: 3.06 Ghz with 533 Mhz FSB
Memory: 1 Gb of Samsung PC-1066 RDRAM
GPU: GeForce 6800GT
I'm not intending a full make-over of current set up since I invested quite a bit and it's been doing quite well even though it's 3 yrs old.
I upgraded the CPU (from 2.26 to 3.06), added more memory (512M to 1G), and changed video cards a couple times (TI4400 -> 9800Pro -> 6800GT), and it scores over 12,000 in 3DMark03. I don't think it's time yet to upgrade this CPU and RAM.
Problem is, I can't seem to find a decent 850E motherboard. I've been thinking of Asus P4T533-C, but no one's selling it? (Not even Newegg) Also, does anyone know what the difference between Intel's D850EMD2 and D850EMV2?
Anyone can help regarding which motherboard to get and where? Many thanks in advance.
