I just put together my new system containing following parts:

Intel D845EBG2 Motherboard
Intel 2.2GHz 533MHz bus CPU
Crucial 512M DDR
Antec 350W power supply

I first started with my old Stealth 3 S540 Xtreme video card(4X AGP).
The MB powers up but no video signal and the monitor goes in standby mode.
I also tried with another PCI 1MB video card again I got same results.

The MB does not give any beeps at all.

I also tried to power the MB without the video card. I just wanted get some
respose from the MB speaker, but no luck. I also tried to power up without a CPU but
no response from the MB at all.

I realize that this board only accepts 1.5V AGP cards. Is S540 not a 1.5V AGP card?
Could I have damaged the MB?

Any suggestions will be apprediated. Thank you.

You should take a look at this article, it may pertain to your situation: i845 video-card incompatibility Probably good not to try the S540 in there any further.

Next thing I'd do is scrounge up a TNT2 AGP card or something, and try that. If the board stays dead to the world, perhaps unplugging the ATX connector and clearing the CMOS would help revive it. If it's still a no-go, try pulling it out of the case and doing just video and RAM? I've also had issues where a brand-new board acted that way because I hadn't pushed the AGP card in past the second row of contacts in the AGP slot. Good luck!

mechBgon:

Thanks for the link. Using that info. I just verified that my board is 1.5V AGP.
