Sedan is a knockout. Hatch is definitely bold... haven't decided how I feel yet. Initial reaction was bloated SUV jellybean, but I think it's lacking context up on the stage. I warmed on it once I got more angles and perspective. The cargo looks a bit compromised for design though.

Curious how the car overall is. Think I would be too scared to try Skyactiv-X the first year. Disappointed they axed the rear multilink suspension.

Looks nice but no Mazdaspeed version. 🙁 I probably won't end up getting another car anyway now that I have 3 kids. Been eyeing the CX-9.

The rear window in the hatchback seems to be way too small for me. I dont like backup cameras so prefer turning to back into my driveway and that window looks to be too small to do that. Ive been driving Mazda 3 hatchbacks since 2007 and test drove a 2018 which doesn't have this issue.

The Skyactive-X sounds like it needs a bit more work to make it stand on its own due to their needing to add electric motors because of limits on the new engine type.

I looked at getting a 2018 after seeing the report on the rear visibility of the 2019's but found Im in the hole on my 2012 and dont really want to move $3k over to a new loan on top of the cost of the 2018 even with the incentives.

I'll be in the market for a new car within the next few years, and I wrote off Mazda when their CX-3 didn't come with a manual transmission. Now that the Honda HR-V has done away with the manual, I guess my only options are hatchbacks.

I'm sure a manual transmission will be standard. If they can pair it with AWD I may have to seriously consider it, but the horrible rear visibility could be a deal-breaker.

I love the smooth look of the hatch but I agree the tail looks weird. They should round it off to make it more sleek; looks like they were going for this sort of shape (which I think looks awesome) but just missed it...

Love hatchbacks. That limited visibility crushes my soul 🙁
