Let's face it, Matrox is king of 2D. Well, it gets even better. 😉

Dual-DVI for starters. 😉 $169 retail... Not sure what GPU it uses... low-end Parahelia perhaps.
MATROX P650
Unified drivers too. 😉 Looks pretty good... need more info. Great for people who want to get work done more than play games. Or just plain appreciate the best 2D desktop a person can get! 😉

EDIT: There's a triple-monitor P750 as well.

mmmm That P650 definitely looks good to me for my work computer! Now I just have to convince work to buy me some LCD's to go with it!

Matrox has had a dual-DVI card out for a while now, the Millennium G550 Dual-DVI. Don't know what this new card offers that the other one doesn't (but I'm sure someone will tell me).

Higher DVI resolution.

More speed. Supported drivers.

Just nice to see Matrox is alive and well enough to pump out a product every once in a while.

I'm suprised ATi hasn't bought them yet.

Hmm, looks good. I might have to get one for my main system, as the resolution of the outputs in dual display mode looks good (unlike some other cards that limit the outputs to 1600x1200 or less in dual mode), and it obviously has Matrox's legendary 2D quality.

shmorg be careful of that blasphemy around matrox fans!!
I actually have a Matrox card (G550) so hopefully I'll be spared.😛
I guess analog 2D quality is still important for the professionals that run at higher than 1600x1200 on CRT monitors. But further down the line when LCDs are more common, I wonder what their main selling point will be.

If you read the fine print on the Matrox website, the P650 promises equal quality for primary and secondary displays. This is new, the G400, G450 & G550 had lower specs for the secondary display.
