I can't re-find the post, but I remember someone mentioned that the newest Matrox Drivers (v5.51.005) can display independent resolutions on both monitors in Win2K? Is this true? I went to the Matrox site and they weren't very clear about it.

I got this off of the Matrox Users website:

<< Matrox Unveils eDualHead
Matrox have unveiled their third generation DualHead support for the G400/G450. eDualHead support is featured in the new Windows 9x 6.50 (3.1MB) and Windows 2000 5.51 (2.8MB) drivers released today. Also featured in the Windows 2000 driver is support for true independent desktops using DualHead, Matrox have done what Microsoft have been unable to do with their own operating system. For the extra eDualHead features you will have to register over on the Matrox website before you can download them, alternatively they'll be quite happy to relieve you of a little more cash and sell it to you on CD, the software is only 1.3MB is size!

That's pretty cool. I wonder how they managed to do that. I have a spare dualhead G400 lying around at my apartment. Maybe I will give it a try this weekend.

I really loved my G400MAX, I wonder if they'll ever release the G800 or have they really left the "gaming arena" for good?

Thanks Trashman. Sounds like I should download this new driver and the eDualHead feature. By the way, can you tell me the link to the Matrox Users website?

Also, I don't think they'll ever make it in the gaming market since they're too far behind. I just hope nvidia can do something about their 2D so the image is crisp at 1600x1200.

i've been waiting a YEAR for the win2k G400 dualhead that lets you specify independent refreshes for each monitor. i HATE running at 2048x768 , it makes my 20 inch monitor look horrible.

i installed the new drivers today, and i love them! my only problem is that icq won't drag over to the second monitor! i know this was a problem for dualhead with win98, but i would think it was possible to fix this! anyone have ideas?

sohcrates....I tried dragging ICQ over and I too share the same problem, seems to be the only window that refuses to move, thats an odd one
