Ok, so after doing hours reading online, I have yet to come up with a definitive answer to a question I have about vista OEM. The question is, I already have it installed on my current computer (which will be taken apart and scattered to other people piece by piece), and I was wondering if there was a way to deactivate the version that is currently active to allow me to install it on my new machine? I know I can contact the Microsoft activation support personnel, but I don't know if it is against the Microsoft EULA to install OEM on anything but the one machine.

Any input (save "Vista sucks!" ;) ) would be much appreciated!

no, OEM is tied to the existing motherboard. The only "transfer" is if your motherboard dies, and your OEM (you, probably in this case) replace it with an equivalent model. This is why you have a discount on OEM, and a premium on retail (where you can transfer it as many times as you like, as long as it is only on one PC at a time)
