New Macbook in the summer?

Any word on if Apple will be coming out with a new version of the Macbook in the summer? If so, what should the specs be like? Also, any chance of a dedicated video card?

There's been rumors of a MacBook Pro redesign. I haven't heard anything on the MacBook front, but it'd probably happen at the same time.

I would say zero chance of a dedicated video card. Apple has always been clear on the differences between their Pro and Consumer lines, unfortunately.

In the time I've had my Macbook I haven't needed a discrete graphics card. The Intel Extreme graphics in the Macbook is plenty powerful enough for normal computer usage.

Atr best, the next MacBook refresh will be a slight processor/hard drive upgrade. The RAM will likely stay where it's at and the screens will likely move to LED backlighting. A multi-touch trackpad is a certainy in the next MB update.

There is absolutely, positivetly no chance at all that the MB will recieve a dedictaed graphics card. The graphics speed of the MB is going to be entirely driven by Intel until either Intel goes out of business or Apple changes processors (the latter is FAR more likely).

If you think you're going to need a dedicated graphics card in any way and you want a Mac, you should stop looking at the MacBook now and focus on attempting to get a MacBook Pro.

The integrated card is fine with me- won't be doing much gaming, but thought it was worthwhile to ask anyway.

are you looking at using any pro apps, in specific, Aperture? It's one of the few apps that will benefit quite a bit from a dedicated card.

I actually aperture runs fine on my Macbook
just the occasional lag, not enough to slow down post - processing

Nope, not doing anything like that. Mostly just normal stuff like internet, iTunes, Word/Excel/Powerpoint..
