From Outpost

I bought this memory two weeks ago for $65 plus $6.5 shipping for my ibook 1.2GHz. What can I say? This is a killer price with great Kingston quality. Works flawlessly in my ibook. I have another 256MB Kingston stick running in my Compaq notebook for one year, never have any problem. If you try those "memory selectors" to search for apple-compatiable memory, you will know the ridiculous price. :)

Doing a search on the kingston site points me to the higher priced module for my Compaq

Another no.

Sure it'll work. My Dell 600m came with 256MB PC2700 stick and I installed a 256 PC2100 to hold me over until I can afford a 512MB stick. Works just fine.

How do you find out what speed memory your laptop takes?

I have a Company Presario V2010 Celeron M 1.4

My 600m (Pentium M 725) from two months ago has a single module of 512 meg PC3200... Any idea if its running at that speed? If not I'll get in on this.

Actually it runs it as pc2100. My 600m came with pc2700 of samsung, but pc wizard showes it running at pc2100. Great deal, I installed this stick in today, giving me 768 megs :)

Most Pentium M platforms (especially older ones running Banias chip) will run RAM at PC2100, regardless of what you put in there.

The pricing at Outpost is back to $65. That extra $5 would have paid for shipping - was )( that close to ordering, hemmed and hawed a day to long. :(

Just got one for my 2800T as well. Tax and shipping kind of suck, but it beats having a rebate in addition to all of those.
