New LOTR dvd sets..

I bought it. Haven't watched them yet. What the hell. I could've wasted my $$ on useless stuff like food, shelter, clothing, etc.

What's the point of these discs? 2 discs for each movie. I already have the sets with 4 discs for each movie. Why would I want this set with the movie on one DVD and one DVD for extras instead of 2?

Doesn't make any sense to me.

I'm not getting. The EE box set was enough short of a HD-DVD/Blu-Ray version I may get years down the line.

Also the new editions do not have the DTS track that was on the EEs.
