New look/revision for the G.Skill HZs

Isnt black pcb the more traditional color for d9gmh chips anyways? I always thought so. All crucial sticks are black and all d9gmh.

QFT.

For example, Asus built there 6800 series (AGP) on blue PCB, others used traditional green, some black, ATi had red but really it all about cosmetics.

Well...when I get them installed tomorrow and get a chance to OC them then it'll be pretty easy to tell the difference between D9 and Promos or w/e 😀

someone pulled them off and what's interesting is that the chips are labeled as "ballistix" 🙂

so they are definitely D9's... GMH? most likely... but could be something else

No worries. I had 2GB of the old type and i got 2GB of the new type for 4GB total and my OC with my e6400 is still 3.6ghz.

Still D9GMH

I like the new look though

So...Just got them today...OC'd to DDR2-933 at 4-4-4-12-2T timings on the default 2.1V...work like a charm!

Only issue I have with them is the TRC in the SPD is set at 36 clocks...my MSI K9N Platinum with 1.6 BIOS won't allow anything above 26 clocks for the TRC...so I just manually set them to 20 clocks like they were with my old OCZ Gold 667 sticks.

If I'm not mistaken the TRC defaults to 36 in the SPD chip by JDEC standards.

Anyone care to correct me?

they kind of look like my tracers without the LEDS.

:X maybe there relabeled and LED removed tracers?
