I just don't like the price 🙁 Not sure why they are so expersive. On the site http://www.instantit.com.au/browse/ProductByCat.asp?ID=172&ManufID=45 they have Logitech Z-640 Speakers but they are not THX but they are 5.1

The Logitech Z-640 Speakers are a lot more affordable for sure. Strange how the Logitech 4.1 THX were only $199 when they first came out and now around $130 to $150. Would anyone ever pay the price of the Logitech Z-680 5.1 THX Speakers? I don't think i would because i mean thats a lot.

LOGITECH Z-680 THX SPEAKER LOGITECH $657.25

Yuck. I'll stick with Klipsch (with significant better build quality and sound). Thats just rape. You can get the 5.1 THX Klipsch for $350 & probably even lower some places.

Those prices are in Australian dollars, the US cost is around $350.

The link says the speakers feature hardware DD/DTS decoding among other codecs.

Pariah good thing. I was thinking about that but i was not sure. Thanks for pointing it out. 🙂 I didn't know exactly. $350 is not as bad but still a lot.

Parish so how much are the Logitech Z-640 in US ? I know it does not have THX but it is 5.1. Its like how the Logitech Z-540 are to the Logitech Z-560.

I should receive my Boston BA7800s this week. That's a 4.1 system, so I am definitely not in the market for these LogiTechs. But, if the Z560s are any indication, the Z640s will be a good system but quality will be questionable. I've seen lots of posts of people complaining of "blown" Z560s.

It depends on how good these 5.1 speakers are. If they fixed all the problems of the 4.1 THX speakers and then some, I think it'd be a great value.
