Can you separate the Logitech drivers from the MouseWare utility in your analysis? I haven't tried, but I suspect the Logitech drivers are not the problem. Some others have gone so far as to recommend using the Logitech drivers + MS Intellipoint software.Originally posted by: vash
Here's a quick skinny on what they did for me (using Logitech Dual Optical)
In Half-Life, I was able to bound the mouse middle button, thumb button and use mousewheel. The drivers ONLY added me using the middle button, the existing drivers let me do the rest already.
In Soldier of Fortune 2, I could no longer bind to the thumb button at all and the middle button was being seen as Mouse1. This is unfortunate that I can't play SoF2 in the same manner as before.
With their current driver set, I will uninstall them and go back to base WinXP drivers for the mouse. If Logitech were to look for some beta driver testers, for games, they should come here, ask around and possibly get some help. Microsoft's mice don't have problems binding in all the games I play, only Logitech's mice.

If you start the .exe installer and choose Custom, you can uncheck MouseWare.Originally posted by: vexingv
but since we're downloading an automated installer how can we isolate the files cuz if you just open the exe it starts the install of both software and drivers?
also, whats the purpose of this? install logitech drivers then install MS mouse properties panel? i thought the logitech drivers were the property panel which allowed you to customize buttons. doing the MS install would probably install its own dirver and software making the previous steps superfluous.
