I wonder if this will allow people to use the scroll wheel and extra buttons in games!?

One can only hope!

I hope this works... I've been having a weird issue with the last edition drivers on my Mx700 where once every 5 days or so (I leave my comp on 24x7) the mouse will stop functioning on the desktop and in AIM, but will work in everything else, but if I stay on the desktop long enough it hard crashes. If I remove the drivers, this never happens. Kinda annoying, and wish I had a solution.

Well the side button and scroll wheel on my Cordless MouseMan Optical works fine in BF1942, I was just playing on the nVidia servers, 37 kills, 6 deaths on Bocage :)

Will try other games later, but if it doesn't work in just one of them, then it's coming off! ;)

I always find that NOT installing the mouseware drivers lets me use the back button & scroll wheel in games. When I install mouseware I always get wierd issues with the buttons for games and I always get a crash with the mouse.exe file randomly.

Same here, but this is a brand new version, which (it seems) may have stopped this problem.

Logitech Mouseware software simply SUCKS. I refuse to use it on my MX700. I simply use the default WinXP drivers (and thus miss out on the task switch button), but it's better than using that POS software.

I'm going to give these a try when I get home... new mouseware & a more thorough testing of dx9a. :)

You guys do know you can use the drivers without installing mouseware right?
(Assuming you have winzip or similar installed... xp zip won't work)
Right click the Mouseware 9.76 exe and extract the files to your HD. Ex C:\Logitech
Uninstall your old Mouseware software
Go into device manager and upgrade the mouse driver and point to the logitech folder.

I did this once before and all my buttons worked fine on my dual optical... but the mouse seemed to skip more. Maybe I'll try again with these drivers.

My side button doesn't work in CS. There's no way i'm going without my Last Weapon button.

I also noticed it quit working in BF1942 also.

So i'm not using these drivers.

I'm gonna be sticking with the default WinXP drivers indefinately.

when I am navigating through windows explorer my back and foward buttons seem to be less responsive with mouseware. I'll probably at least try them though.

I 2nd that.....

I was helping a friend with his MX500 mouse wheel in UT2k3 from what I can tell it?s impossible. These drivers seem to change nothing at over the previous set, in other words they still suck. I really wish Logitech would get their *&%) together and put together a driver that works, I've never had a problem with any of Microsoft's mouse drivers there is no reason Logitech shouldn't be able to do the same.

Cheers!

LOL, Logitech should rename it "Bloatware 9.76" :D. I too was looking for a lighter download "drivers only" instead of downloading the full thing. (I'm talking about the ability to download only the drivers, and not the ability to install only the drivers, which is already in mouseware)

I too suffer from buttons sometimes not working right, and some never working in games. The Back and Forward buttons almost always work right in games, but I don't think I've gotten the Cruise or Quick Switch buttons to do anything in games either.

Also occassionaly the Cruise buttons will even not work in IE, though the Back/Forward's always do.

Using Win2k Pro SP3.

I sure hope Logitech works this out... only flaw in an otherwise great mouse with this mediocre software/driver combo...
