Is new G15 is better than the old one & i am planning to buy a gaming keyboard so what are views on G15. Is G15 is a good gaming keyboard & worth the price tag it carry ? & what about microsoft Gaming Keyboard RECLUSA is it good?

There's pros and cons for the old (blue LEDs) and new (amber LEDs) G15 keyboards. Biggest difference is number of G-keys, the programmable keys are 18 on the old, only 6 on the new with 3 M-keys that allow for pallette swaps. The other main differences on the new are the size and tactile feel of the keys. Many say the new G15's keys are much better quality and feel. The new G15 is smaller and integrates the LCD into the housing more. If you actually bother mapping the G keys to macros they're both excellent imo and well worth it.

If you're interested in a Microsoft Gaming Keyboad, I'd wait for the Microsoft Sidewinder X6 Keyboard I may check it out myself once its released.

Wow at 80$ it?s steal. So bro do you have any idea when in sep it will launch?

No idea, MS' site says coming soon though. I'd agree though the price looks excellent for what you get. I really like the design and features, especially the adjustable numpad. That's always been a useless set of keys for me in games with a WASD and mouse set-up. Moving that keypad would make it extremely useful, even allowing for those who prefer the numpad to use that instead of WASD. Personally I like the idea of mapping keys to numpad in-game and using the macro keys for anything that can't be changed in-game.

That MS keyboard looks fugly and uncomfortable to me.

I'd say go witha g15; I got the first revison g15 (blue one) and I don't have any real complaints about it.

Get a $20 keyboard and play the same games? Or do you actually need to have specific buttons mapped out and lights that shine in your eyes?

get the g15. I've got the new version of the G15 and LOVE it.

Why?

-Adjustable LED brightness(off, low, bright)
-Programmable Macro buttons(never use them though lol)
-pretty quite while typing
-has usb ports on it(I plug my mouse into it)
-controls windows media player via buttons

-AND MOST IMPORTANT TO ME IS THE LCD

I thought the LCD was a gimmick, but boy was I wrong. I use it for viewing the time if I'm in a game, check cpu/memory usage, check videos progress without using the mouse(jsut glance at teh lcd), and most importantly for fraps. In fraps it automatically graphs the fps in a flowing line graph with the current fps shown in numbers above the flowing graph.

Now that I've got teh G15 I couldn't game on any other keyboard lol

The new MS keyboard may be nice, but It would never replace a g-15 for me.

Actually, I'm on my third g-15.

The First got replaced due to the Key Tops wearing away. It was a common problem with the first released keyboards and I got it the week it was released. Fortunately, Logitech replaced it free of charge.

The Second was also an older version. Unfortunately, It didn't like coffee as much as I did. It didn't suffer from the same key top problems that the first did though.

The Third, and Current, g-15 I bought to replace the bad keyboard. This time it was the amber one. Overall, I like it a bit better than the "blue" one.

The original G-15 has better media controls, I like the adjustable screen and the many more programmable keys were nice. But, realistically, I never use any of the macro keys. I keep telling myself I will, but I haven't yet. Nor do I ever adjust the angle of the LCD screen. I opened it up full and kept it there.

In the end I liked the "amber" g-15 because of it's smaller foot print, the LCD is easier to read, and the Amber color keys is much better than light blue.

I'm with Scheibler on the usefulness of the LCD screen too. A lot of people may find it gimmicky, but I can't live without it right now.

I use it while playing EQ2. When on a Raid with 24 voices I find that using Ventrilo's G-15 support to be very useful since I can see who is talking. The DPS parse application I use also supports the keyboard so I can keep track of my damage at a glance.

There are a lot of games out there that now support the g-15 LCD panel, though those two applications are always the ones I use it for.

Right... I use a lite-on PS/2 keyboard and I rage over people. So.. 10$ keyboard(maybe less, depends) vs your 70$+ keyboard with "OMG I R BLIND" sky lights. That has got to be the most annoying shit if you leave your computer on at night or if you watch a movie. If you need lights to see the keys, then you are a hopeless noob.

Anyway, all those keyboards are trash. Get a cheapo and be happy you saved the dollars.

Get a better GFX card so you can actually keep a steady frame rate while you watch your corpse.

:thumbsdown:gaming keyboards with a membrane, what a noble idea
no n-key rollover to boot.
