So this is somewhat of a brag thread but I bought a place in downtown kansas city, mo last month and it needed a lot of work as the previous owner had some substance abuse issues and trashed the place before he was foreclosed on.

see all the picture here! (oldest on the bottom). The oldest pictures were from before i moved in.

mirrors, shower rod, tile grout and doors get installed/finished today! i'll put up some more pictures tonight/tomorrow. i am going to have my painter come back and do some touchup and do the doors and door trim.

Oh my goodness. I love it, and am plainly envious! Awesome place!...just needs some work, which it seems you are not afraid to do. :)

they did, but were well worth it. 2" slat, real wood with a golden oak finish. ordered from home depot and whoever they go through did a fantastic job.

I did a lot of the work but did have some of the tougher stuff contracted out. I found a great guy who replaced the doors, frames, and trim, did the tile work and put a 110v outlet in my laundry area. I was able to manage everything else on my own. i find i love the place even more now that my own sweat...and some blood...have gone into it.

oak floors throughout. i think they are original to the building as it used to be an auto parts supply building. i am sure they are over 50 years old but refinished when they were converted to lofts in 2004ish

i got it for under 180 and closing costs included. they had just dropped it from 209 to 186 and we knew there were going to be offers in fast so i made one kind of low ball offer and then a much more reasonable one when they countered.

Nice I like it. It looks great!

I am kind of in the market for one, but I am hesitant. They seem to be building/flooding the market with lofts/condos around here I with the market already crap, it just makes me nervous.

How much is the association fee?

~$300/mo. its ridiculous, but its pretty standard in this area.

building maint, snow removal, trash, water, gas, door man, gym, communal roof top deck, cleaning of the common areas, building insurance. there is a lot that goes in to a condo type building besides just the units.
