New Linksys Beta Firmware

Just updated my Linksys router. The new Access Log feature is pretty cool. 🙂

Just a word of warning..... I tried to install the update and viola didnt work anymore, diag light just continuously flashed. Phoned tech support and they said the chip is probably fried and they are sending me a RMA number, hopefully Staples will take it back tommorrow and I won't have to use it.

Just to update, Staples replaced my router no problem but its version 1.3 for this cat! or should I say DOG!

How easy is it to scew up your router doing this? I have never flashed mine and am considering doing it, just what is the risk? Should I go buy a gold plated 3ft Cat6 cable or will a standard connection work?

When I updated to 1.3 which I also did tonight with the new one, no problems at all. I think it may have been because I had other data flowing through the router as it was updating. Its very easy to run the updates anyway, but, I will wait till the next version comes out ther doesnt seem to be much new in this 1.305 or whatever it is

Updated to 1.3 beta a few days ago. No problems at all.
